About Us

Meyers Theatre for Young Audiences began in 2004 with the dreams of Sandy and Stewart Meyers, whose shared love of theatre and philanthropic spirits led them to set the stage for school-aged children in Oklahoma to nurture their own relationships with the arts.

By exposing students to live performances of our commissioned theatrical works, we enrich their education on American history and government, encourage their creative development, address topics relevant to contemporary issues, and strengthen their character and personal integrity.

The Meyers Theatre team works through theatrical performances to give Oklahoma City school children a vision for what they could accomplish. Our performing arts program creates new opportunities and expands horizons for the children in our community. We offer young people the chance to explore the possibilities ahead of them and pursue their dreams.

Today, 60,000 children and youth have attended theatrical productions commissioned by Meyers Theatre, and we plan to ensure that OKC’s youth have a place in the spotlight for decades to come.
